Mums, Grannies and Kids Chillout in Nature

  • The Forge corwen Cae Einion (map)

This retreat is designed for those mums who really want the opportunity to get a break but who either struggle to find support to get away by themselves, or simply want their children to be part of their world and experience retreats with like-minded mums.

We want to provide a space surrounded in the hills of where we live, embraced in the hug of the Welsh hills and valleys. Nestled is an eco-retreat equip with glamping spaces. With the opportunity to bring your own accomdation.

We are formulating the plan for this retreat but it will have the theme of classes for mums, but also mums and kids combined or more kids-centred. It will be very chilled with a loose agenda and no big rules! This will include meditative dips in the river, hikes across the hills, story tales by the fire, rising and sleeping with the sunrise and sunset as we reconnect to the natural circadian rhythm.

We will be embracing the healing power of sisterhood with deep discussions or simple chit chat over crafting. This is all to for you to enjoy a weekend of stress-free ease with plenty of downtime.

Most importantly, no pressure. You can be as involved or observing as you wish. We get it! You will be around like-minded souls to truly feel understood and listened to. Although there is a loose agenda, we also encourage you to feel free to dip in and out of what you want to do. On that note, you can also rest assured that any movement classes are gentle and nurturing. You do not need to be any size, shape or strength.

It’s all about feeling more and more connected to themselves and nature. We are nature itself, yet the modern world encourages us to forget this. Not only this but our children are so much happier outdoors and amongst a community where they can entertain themselves with other children or any of the activities we have planned (both planned and also child-led).

These spaces are very limited so we recommend you either lock down your spot now or email us to share your interest. There will be one cost per family of 3 (1 adult 2 children). For additional children there will be a small supplement and for an extra adult there will be a larger supplement.

The Retreat Leaders

Nicola Wagstaff

Nicola is the owner of Inspire - Rewire and she wants to help you connect back to your natural habitat! Outside but with shelter, warmth and good food, good company and leave with your heart full. Nic lives in the local area and since moving here has felt like this is her home and wants to share this healing space with you.

Nic left her corporate career in built-up Dubai to live a simpler life and focus on her own healing. In doing so she retrained as a yoga teacher, Hypnotherapist, NLP Coach, Reiki Master - to name a few. Her passion is to inspire others to find theirs and step out of their own way, focusing on setting boundaries and as a ‘head-based’ person, truly believes in the healing power of nature and grounding back into the earth for balancing the higher chakras with the lower. Nic will be talking on subjects that help us to find out more about our individual true nature in accepting ourselves and being exactly who we are supposed to be.

Jane Astley

ane started out in a career in genetics, cancer research and molecular immunology; inspired by learning, she took a side step into educational research whilst studying part time to be an Ayurvedic practitioner. She went on to study yoga, yoga philosophy, meditation and yoga therapy in India, which included working in a therapy camp at the Kumbh Mela festival. She then used all of this knowledge over the next few years living in Spain.

Yoga has a very special place in Jane’s life as it has assisted her in trauma recovery, injury recuperation, hormonal imbalance and emotional wellness. It has helped her to re-connect body, mind and spirit through self-awareness and a commitment to improving the quality of life. Yoga provides a wonderful toolkit and she loves to combine therapeutic elements, mudra, breathwork and hatha yoga, flow or slower practices; always listening to what the body and mind needs.

Jane lives in North Wales with her little boy, where she loves to explore stillness, movement, nature, words, community, connection and love.

The Venue

The Forge provides a space for people to relax, unwind and reconnect with nature, by staying in our eco-glamping accommodation and immersing themselves in one of our many courses and events, which we host throughout the year. Founded on the principles of sustainability and rewilding, helping others to rekindle a love and appreciation for the natural world is at the heart of everything we do. The Forge opened in 2018 with just “three tents in a field”, for people to come and enjoy an introduction to glamping. We soon realised that people were fascinated by our vision to live more sustainably and to restore our beautiful little corner of Wales to its former natural beauty. We also realised that after the global pandemic of 2020, people were desperate for a safe place to be outside with friends and family and needed space to focus on their mental health and wellbeing.he Forge provides a space for people to relax, unwind and reconnect with nature, by staying in our eco-glamping accommodation and immersing themselves in one of our many courses and events, which we host throughout the year.
